Kristin Dolechek is the new Agriculture Education Instructor and FFA Advisor at Lyons High School. Kristin grew up on the family farm near Scribner, Nebraska where they raised corn, soybeans, and have a small feedlot. She was active in 4-H and FFA showing sheep, hogs, and chickens. Kristin graduated from Logan View in 2009 and then attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She graduated with a bachelor’s in agriculture education with a minor in Agriculture Economics. Upon graduation, she accepted a teaching job in Shickley, Nebraska. She taught there for sevens years, growing the program and working to better program facilities. She has a dog named Rocco, who enjoys going for runs and greeting everyone.
While teaching in Shickley, Kristin worked on and received her Masters in Applied Science, Science for Educators from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She met her fiancé, Dane Dolechek from Claflin, Kansas in 2018 and decided to look for a job in Kansas. Kristin is excited to start the Agriculture Education program and FFA chapter in Lyons. “I have always thought it would be a fun and a good challenge to start a program,” she says. She looks forward to building the program, meeting community members, and invites you to follow Lyons Ag Ed/FFA on Facebook and Instagram.
