Junior and Senior Parents:​ Good News! Due to the low COVID19 positivity rate in Rice County, it will NOT be necessary for students to be tested for COVID19 to attend the Lyons High School prom. Students were informed this morning that testing would not be necessary. ​Dear Junior Parents, The school year is flying by and prom is almost here. With most of the preparation in place, there are a few things we could use your help with. We are looking for parents to help with the food preparation and clean up from the banquet and then help cleaning up the decorations on Sunday. We’re needing about 4 people to help the kitchen staff at about 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10. This will be to plate the desserts and prepare the salads. We will then need about 6 people to help the kitchen staff starting at 6:00 p.m. to plate the meal, coordinate servers, and clean dishes during the banquet. On Sunday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m., we can use some help in taking down the prom decorations and getting the gym ready for school Monday. The more help we get, the faster it will go. LMS Tennis WHERE: Lyons High School WHEN: Wednesday, April 14 TIME: 3:00 PM LOCATION: LHS courts west of Salty Archer Field TEAMS: Smoky Valley, Great Bend, Ellinwood, and Lyons.

The Lyons High Forensics team competed in the Annual CKL Forensics Tournament on Monday, April 5. The team was comprised of 10 students who competed in 18 events. Out of those 18 events, Lyons broke 14 of them to finals. The following student's medal at the tournament: Lily Stansbury League Runner Up in Prose, Becca Konda 4th in Prose, Shelby Johnston 5th in Prose, Stansbury/Konda 5th in Duet, Jarrett Smith 4th in DI, Merranda Dixon Phillips 3rd in DI, Blake Seidel-Pinson League Runner Up in DI, Ian Foster League Runner Up in Extemp, Tyler Deering 6th in Extemp, Ian Foster League Champion in Impromptu, Tyler Deering 5th in Impromptu, Blake Seidel-Pinson League Champion In OO, Merranda Dixon Phillips League Champion in POI, and Shelby Johnston 5th in POI. Overall the team scored 317 points to become the CKL Runner Up behind Pratt High
