 Makenna Martinez will participate in the Kansas World Food Prize last spring. She was selected to attend the Word Food Prize, which is being held virtually this year. DirectorMorgan Day, of the Global Youth Programs and Partnerships for the World Food Prize Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa, confirmed that Martinez will be involved in the World Food Prize Foundation’s 2022 Virtual Global Youth Institute, Borlaug Dialogue, International Symposium, and Laureate Award Ceremony taking place from October 16th-21st. The Global Youth Institute is an academic conference where your student will be learning from experts, engaging with students from across the country, and presenting their research on global food security issues. Makenna researched the country Chad, identified issues, and came up with possible solutions. She will present her information and ideas on the evening of Monday, October 17th, and will be able to interact with people around the globe. She will participate in the virtual real-time portion of the program.
