Val Loesch is an Autism/Special Education Consultant for Rice County Special Services, working with children and teachers from Pre-K to 12th grades. She serves all schools in Rice County including Lyons, Sterling, Chase, Windom, and Little River. She received her B.S. from McPherson College in 1984 and began her teaching career that same year. Approximately half of her career, Val served as an Interrelated Resource Room teacher working with children with varying disabilities. Val has received specialized training through the KU Outreach Program and KISN/TASN in Autism for the past 20 years. She also received specialized training through KU in working with severely disabled children in her early career. Val is married and has two grown children, Kiley and Nick. Both are graduates of Lyons High School. Her husband is a farmer and rancher in rural Rice County.
