My name is Shannon Hendricks and I am a kindergarten teacher at Park Elementary. I graduated from Sterling College with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and I received my Master's degree in Education at Friends University. I also have certification in Early Childhood Special Education and English as a Second Language. I have been teaching for 23 years now and have taught Pre-k through kindergarten in both regular and special education settings. I live in Sterling with my husband, my youngest son, Seth and my two dogs. My oldest son, Michael just got married this summer to his high school sweetheart, Aubree. Michael and Aubree live in Emporia, where he is a junior at Emporia State University and Aubree works as a para-educator for the Emporia school district.
I have never wanted to be anything but a teacher and I strive to help all of my students to learn to their fullest potential.I try to instill in my students to not be afraid to make mistakes along their lifelong journey of learning.
