College Applications
Now is the time to begin applying to the colleges of your choice. Some universities have a fee to apply; others are free (like Barton). Before you apply, schedule a visitation day so you can get a feel for the school. Meet with an advisor to discuss what classes are available and if it’s in the major you are interested in. Application deadlines vary from school to school, so check the deadline and apply on time.
Priority Scholarship Deadlines – the deadline to apply so you qualify for early scholarships
Oct. 1 – Wichita State
Nov 1 – KSU, KU
Dec. 15 – FHSU
Feb. 1 - Pittsburg State
Feb. 15 – Emporia State, Washburn
March 15th – Apply to BCCC – NO COST!!!!
Financial Aid Night
Monday, January 31– 7:00 p.m. LHS Cafeteria – Parents and seniors are encouraged to attend to receive information concerning the FAFSA and applying for scholarships this year. Information will be presented by a Student Financial “expert.”
Community Service – are you doing it? Don’t rely on only school activities for community service. Volunteer outside of school to make the difference in getting a scholarship. Here are some ideas. WRITE IT ALL DOWN & TOSS IN FOLDER!
