New Policy For School Immunizations

Evening Clinics On Aug. 3rd and Aug. 6th

Rice County Health Department has a new policy for school immunizations this year.  They will hold two evening clinics:  Tuesday, August 3 and Friday, August 6 from 4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.  ONLY required school immunizations will be given at this time--siblings needing other immunizations will need to come during a regularly-scheduled immunization clinic.  Parents MUST call the health department and schedule their child's school immunizations; there will be no walk-in clients accepted.  To make an appointment call:  620-257-2171.  Children with medical cards need to bring their card with them.  Parents must be present to sign permission to immunize. These clinics are for uninsured or under-insured children only, except that a limited number of free chickenpox (varicella) vaccine is available to any child age 10-14 requiring a second dose for school this year.
