It's A Jungle In Here
3rd Graders Finish Rainforest Unit
Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Friesen's 3rd grade classes held the rainforest open house on Friday, May 7th. Mrs. Feldman's class rainforest held theirs on Wednesday, May 12th. Students had 14 facts about the rainforest they shared. Each class presented a program with facts learned from studying climate, customs, animals and environment of the rainforest. Along with the program, cookies and punch were on sale for 50 cents. All three classes are still collecting donations for the "Adopt-an-Acre of Rainforest" through the Nature Conservancy.
Why save the rainforest? Our 3rd graders would be able to tell you these facts and much more!
- Trees give us oxygen and take in carbon dioxide
- Tropical rainforests contain more than 50% of plant and animal life.
- The loss of rainforests causes erosion and pollution
- Destroying rainforests could disturb weather patterns
- Living things on our planet are interdependent on each other.
