A New Look for USD #405

....enjoy your visit

As you can see, the Lyons USD 405 website has a new look!  We have been working internally for the past few months to redesign the website. Our site, like any other, is a work in progress. In the next few weeks and months it will be our focus to provide our patrons with information on what is happening within USD 405. We will be making additions and changes. All of your favorite pages are still here; however, they may have been moved a bit. For example, the Board of Education information is now combined with the District Office. A new section, Nurses Notes, has been added to insure all health and wellness notices for students and staff can be easily found.  We invite you to check out the site map for a quick reference to the information you may be seeking.

The support team at SOCS has worked closely with our staff to make this transformation possible. In April of 2005, we chose to join the SOCS network of websites  because the site itself is very dynamic; in other words, it has the ability to change. Most employees have the opportunity to post their own articles from stories of what is happening in the classrooms, important subject links or even homework assignments. We have not even touched the surface of what is possible! While this site won't replace our town's newspaper, it is certainly our goal to keep the content fresh, informative and exciting in an effort to entice you to return often.

We also want to hear from you. At the bottom of this article, the feedback feature has been added. This gives you have the ability to let us know what you think. This link, Feedback, will give you all the instructions needed if are unsure how feedback works. Please take advantage of the opportunity and give your input on our new design, what you would like to see developed or anything else that you care to share. In the future this feature will be added to other articles.

Efforts are now underway to complete the calendar component of our website.  Be sure to visit the calendar section and sign up for weekly or monthly reminders for the events and activities you are interested in. Click here for more details, including instructions for clipping events.

So, we invite you to take a look now, and then keep checking in with us from time to time; hopefully you'll notice the changes, the new features, etc.  Also, we encourage you to sign up for the News Update to get the latest news forwarded directly to you.  Click here to find out how to subscribe.
Thanks for visiting and come back again, soon!
