All college representatives will be available during lunch time Mondays through Fridays.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarship information will be on the bulletin board by the counseling office and in the newsletter each month.
Kansas Board of Regents Vocational Education Scholarship Program will offer its qualifying test on March 6. Approximately 240 scholarships will be available. The registration fee for the test is $10.00. Go to http://www.kansasregents.org/financial_aid/awards.html.
The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) is offering the Quality Leadership Scholarship. Two $500 awards are available. Applicants must have at least a 3.25 GPA, at least a 22 on the ACT and evidence of leadership experience. Application deadline is March 12.
The Ark Valley Cooperative is offering a graduating senior an opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship to any Kansas college offering a lineman-training program. March 15 is the application deadline.
Southwest Kansas Bar Association Scholarship Contest offers 4 $500 scholarships. The application process involves filling out a form AND writing a 500-word essay on “Liberty under the Law: Empowering Youth, Assuring Democracy.” Application deadline is March 26.
American Petroleum Institute (Western Kansas Chapter) is offering four $1000 scholarships. Applicants must be in the upper 50% of their class, parent or guardian must work in some phase of the oil industry. Deadline is March 31.
The Sunflower Diversified Services Foundations is offering one scholarship of $250 to a graduating senior who resides in one of five counties which includes Rice, is entering a field of study associated with services to persons with developmental disabilities, including special education, speech/language pathology, physical therapy or occupational therapy. Deadline is April 9.
KSU’s Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity awards two $500 Loren Mall Leadership Scholarships. Consideration is based on leadership and academic excellence. Deadline is April 10.
Rice County Farm Bureau Association offers a $250 scholarship to children of current Farm Bureau members. See Ms. McKenzie for scholarship criteria and application. Deadline is April 15.

If you want to apply for any of the following programs, see Ms. McKenzie for an application packet: Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship, Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship, Kansas State Scholarship or the Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship. Deadline is May 1.
Numerous scholarships are available through the Kansas and National Recognition and Scholarship Program. Check the book in Ms. McKenzie’s office for the requirements of the scholarships available.

COLLEGE CAMPUS VISITS
You are allowed two days during your senior year to visit the colleges you have under consideration. You must fill out a request form, acquire the necessary signatures and file it with the office 10 days PRIOR TO THE VISIT.
