Congratulations to  Janessa MacArthur and Andrew Stansbury, Lyons High School Students of the Month. Others nominated for the honor this month were:  Carman Jeffery, Kaley Miller, and Kiana Stewart.

The Lionaires will be busy on Tuesday, February 14th with two different fund raising activities. During the day, members will travel to different schools, homes, and businesses. They will be delivering singing valentines in Lyons and surrounding areas. After their performance, candy will be given to the recipient.Orders need to reach the Lyons High School office by Friday, February 10th. On the evening of the 14th, Lionaire members and parents will be serving a chicken and noodle dinner at the Lyons High School cafeteria. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: If you are 15-18 and looking for a summer job working outdoors, the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is looking for help at the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge (7.25/hr). Projects may include trail building and repair, improving wildlife habitat, posting boundary signs, invasive plant control, monitoring wildlife, simple construction, office work and general maintenance activities as needed. Work is mostly outdoors and is subject to summer heat and biting insects. Work begins approximately June 4th and will last 8 weeks.
