Industrial Revolution Power Point Project

by Debbie Dumler

May 06, 2008

Tenth grade students at Lyons High School conducted research about the Industrial Revolution by searching for answers to the following questions:

  • How did the assembly line, new machinery, spinning mills, and modern factory system change productivity?

  • What levels of education were necessary to work on these?

  • Were specialized skills required to work on these?

  • What was the impact of the assembly line, new machinery, spinning mills and modern factory on wage rates.

  • Investigate today’s pay for assembly line jobs (auto industry, etc…), machine operators, factory jobs and textile jobs.

  • Would the answers to the question be different today that during the Industrial Revolution?

When the research was completed students put their findings into a Power Point presentation.
