Lyons Softball

April 10, 2008

The Lyons Softball team of 2005 set the school record for most wins in a season with an 18 and 5 record.  Lyons hosted and won the 2005 Regional Tournament by defeating Chaparral in 13 innings by a score of 10 to 9.  Lyons then defeated Medicine Lodge for the championship by a score of 5 - 4 in a come from behind victory.  Several players received post season honors that year.  Tiffany Taylor 1st team all league pitcher, and Hutchinson News All Area Honorable Mention pitcher, Nicole Kratzer 1st team unanimous all league outfield and Hutchinson News All Area second team outfield, Andrea Leiker 2nd team all league and Hutchinson News All Area 1st team, Heidi Showalter 2nd team all league catcher and Hutchinson News All Area Honorable Mention, Jessica Steffan all league honorable mention outfield and Sam Kerr all league honorable mention.
