Pi Day

Pi Day has become a tradition at LMS, as this is the 5th year. Students enjoyed various math games to celebrate 3.14 and also to prepare them for state math assessments. The math games included Battle Graph, Math-o, Ratio Rummy, M&M Graphing, Operation 31, Math Word Find, Travel, Fraction War and Factor Top It.
Students also got the opportunity to memorize the digits of Pi. Those students in each grade that memorized the most digits got to "pie" a teacher. The winners this year were 8th grade-Jessica with 56 digits, 7th grade-Becca with 76 digits and 6th grade-Sierra with 67 digits. This year students were treated to cookies with the Pi symbol.
