Welcome to Lyons Public Schools, USD #405. We serve over 800 students in four learning centers. Lyons Public Schools takes great pride in making their decisions based upon what’s best for our students. Our staff truly cares about our students and is committed to continuous school improvement. The recent 2005-2006 ACT scores reflect Lyons commitment to academic excellence. Lyons students exceeded the state average in each core area of the ACT test.
Some of the highlights of USD 405 include:
- A half-day pre-school program for 4 year olds
- All day, every day kindergarten
- Reading recovery program for 1st grade
- Grades 1 & 2 loop
- A strong character education program in grades 3 – 6
- Tutoring programs and Summer School for students that need academic assistance
- ESL program
- Outstanding Fine Arts Programs
- High school implemented an Air Force ROTC program this year – 70 students
- Laptops are checked out to each student in grades 7 – 12
- Strong Vocational programs
- Sponsoring District for the Rice County Special Education Cooperative
- Small Class Sizes
- Parents can currently view their child's grades, and attendance by using a personalized access code that we can provide. For more information about this feature please contact the school building office.
