My name is Tom Moore. I teach Physical Education to third through eighth grades at Central Elementary and Lyons Middle School and Driver’s Education at Lyons High School. I’m also Head Girls Track & Field Coach at Lyons High School and Assistant Football Coach at Lyons Middle School. I grew up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, which is right across the Hudson River from New York City. The City was a big influence in my life while growing up. I went to museums, Broadway shows, and sporting events while growing up. I followed my mother’s footsteps as a Yankees fan and both my mom’s and dad’s as a Giants football fan. After graduating High School, I decided it was time for a change. And what a change it was. I left the City for rural Kansas. I enrolled in Bethany College at Lindsborg, KS. While working toward my teaching degree, I played football and track and field. I met my wife, Annette, while attending Bethany. We moved to Lyons in 1980 and started my teaching career. My wife teaches Computer Technology anand Accounting, and sponsors Student Council at  Lyons High School. We have a
daughter, Lindsay, who attends Kansas State University.While not teaching or coaching, I enjoy golfing, listening to music, and most of all, traveling. |
