Central Elementary: Faculty

Becki Libhart

Writing Lab/ASIST Coordinator

October 05, 2006

I was born many moons ago in Denver, shortly after the New Year, January 4th. I was raised on a farm northwest of Hoxie, Kansas. All of my formative school years were completed at USD #412 in Hoxie, from which I graduated in 1973. I spent the next three years working, first in Hays, then back on my parent’s farm and driving a school bus. On October 10, 1976 John and I were married. Since John’s job was in Morland, we lived there and I operated a Daycare in our home.

In August of 1993 we pulled up all out deeply embedded Kansas roots and moved to Seward, Nebraska. Working part-time in a Child Development Center, I attended Concordia University. I received my Bachelor Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood on May 11th 1996. Accepting the position of Director at St John’s CDC in Ellinwood brought us back to Kansas. (Hurrah!)

As a certified teacher these past years I’ve been involved in elementary education as a substitute teacher, ASIST coordinator and Director/Teacher of Grace Little Lambs Preschool. John is employed as the Lead Housekeeper at Cal-Maine.

My LOVE of animals, especially cats, is evident as six rescued cats reside with us in our home. I consider crocheting, reading, growing flowers, being involved at church and about anything to occupy me outdoors among my other interests.
