I was born and spent my entire childhood in Little River, Kansas. I attended Hutchinson Junior College for two years and that is where I met my husband, John. I then graduated with a teaching degree from Wichita State University. I began my teaching career at Buhler Grade School in a 4th Grade classroom. We decided to return to Lyons, because that was John's hometown. Out to the country, we moved, and I was lucky enough to find a job at Park School, teaching Second Graders. During the 30 years I have been in Lyons, I’ve also taught a combination 2/3 classroom, and moved to Central to teach a 3rd Grade class. While doing all this teaching, I also began my family. Both of our children have graduated--from Little River--just like their Mom. Sean is working and farming. Bren is a TEACHER at Moundridge! I had a wonderful experience last summer: I returned to the beautiful country of Costa Rica. I had been there five years ago and was ready to revisit the RAINFORESTS, which are one of my favorite things. Another favorite is working with kids and helping them to "learn to love learning."  |
